Tooth Gem Policy
Before getting a tooth gem applied, please read this policy to ensure you understand the procedure and potential risks. By booking this service, you acknowledge the following:
Procedure Overview
Tooth gem application is a cosmetic procedure. The process involves adhering a gem to the tooth surface using a safe, non-invasive method. While the procedure is temporary, removal of the gem should only be done by a professional to avoid damage to the tooth enamel. Proper aftercare is essential to maintaining the gem’s adhesion and avoiding discomfort or damage.
During the treatment, a plastic cheek retractor is placed in the mouth to help keep it open. Vitamin E oil is applied to the lips as needed to reduce dryness and prevent cracking. A dental-grade etchant gel is applied to the teeth for 30–90 seconds to open the pores of the enamel. Composite and bonding materials are then used to attach genuine Swarovski crystals and/or gold or silver-plated tooth gems in the specified placement. Protective eyewear is provided to shield the eyes from the UV curing light used during the bonding process. Once the procedure is complete, the cheek retractor and any tissue coverings are removed. Mouthwash is provided to rinse out any fallen gems, cotton, or other remnants from the procedure. A toothbrush and toothpaste are also provided to brush the teeth, which helps remove any residual taste or materials from the procedure.
Materials & Durability
The tooth gems applied are genuine Swarovski crystals or gold/silver-plated gems. The durability and longevity of the gems depend on each client’s personal oral care regimen and habits. If the gems fall off, it is not the responsibility of SAMBAM Did That to refund or reapply them outside of the stated policy. There are no refunds for this service unless explicitly offered on a case-by-case basis by SAMBAM Did That.
Risks & Limitations
This procedure is performed by a trained professional (Samara Scott) who is not a licensed dentist. While the tooth gem procedure is safe and cosmetic, it is not without risks. Potential complications, including but not limited to temporary irritation, discomfort, or allergic reactions, may occur. Results are temporary and may last anywhere from 2 weeks to 12 months depending on the client’s oral care regimen. In some cases, gems may last shorter or longer than this timeframe.
